Katie Smith
Katie Smith, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of higher education at Seton Hall University. Smith’s research focuses on college student career development, including how student loan debt influences academic major and career decisions. Smith’s research has been published in academic journals including Educational Researcher, the Journal of College Student Development, Social Sciences, and the Community College Journal of Research & Practice and has been funded by organizations such as the Spencer Foundation and the American College Personnel Association. Smith formerly worked as a career services advisor at Duke University and Elon University. Smith holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Rochester and a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Geneseo.
